William Wongso is arguably one of Indonesia’s most famous culinary figure. He is a renowned restaurateur, consultant as well as TV hosts. While he started his career learning about Western culinary techniques, he is now very passionate in promoting Indonesian cuisine worldwide. He and his team are frequently appointed as “culinary ambassador” to various countries to promote Indonesian food.
Recently William Wongso was appointed to lead Indonesian culinary team to Frankfurt Book Fair (in which Indonesia was the guest of honor) that many claimed as one of the most successful in the last 10 years. He then went on to cook for the gala dinner hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce to welcome President Joko Widodo during his visit to the US in October 2015.
